Michael David founded the “Michael
David
Guitar
School” in 1981 at
Frankfurt/Main,
Germany, after completing his
studies of the classical guitar. Initially, Michael David focused on the
teaching of pop music and improvisation, with the latter being his passion.
The expansion of the School from 1995, which encompassed the teaching of an
array of musical instruments, resulted in “The Michael David Guitar School”
being renamed “The Creative Music School”.
For a few years Michael David concentrated on Modern
Jazz. Michael formed his own group named the “Michael David Group” which
focused on performing Modern Jazz.
When visiting his family in
Australia, he discovered the didgeridoo, a wind
instrument of the indigenous people of
Australia. Fascinated by the archaic
sound of this instrument, his musical interest turned to world music. The
“Michael David Group” became “Global Spirit”.
Over the course of many years, Michael David explored
the sounds of a growing number of exotic instruments such as the Shakuhachi
– a Japanese
bamboo flute, the Indian Bansuri flute, the Irish tin whistle, the spirit
flute of the American indigenous people as well as the oud, an Arabic lute.
His ability to play these instruments allied with the ability to digitally
record music in his project studio, enable him to produce his own music as a
“One Man Band”.In the project studio, Michael David produces instructional CDs for lessons
at his music school as well as music for industrial videos and his own
projects predominantly world music, chill out and ambient.
